Three-channel sound and video installation "From Makarska, the see has a different color" in which, over static frames of just slightly-rippled sea, throuh the middle of the screen, run three different recordings about the sea and life; scientific study on the sea, such as encyclopaedical entries, a quote from Gundulić’s Tears of the Prodigal Son, the weight and the transience of life ( "Ah, the human life is nothing else than a blurred sea ..."), and finnaly a text that documents the facts of a moment in space, accurate information about the latitude and longitude, date and time, weather conditions. Changing registers of discourse suggests different levels of our understanding and experiencing the reality.
The work arose out of a conversation with Professor Mary, originally from the island of Korčula, who, when telling her life story mentioned that the color of the sea observed from Makarska has a different color.
