The rocks that are put on a sand of beach in the Spiăza bay forming a shape of an American flag, are a metaphor for the 60´s when 1395 inhabitants of the island of Susak (Croatia) were forced to leave the island for political reasons in ex Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ). At first they immigrated to Italy and later on to the United States of America. 1395 rocks, which are a symbol of each immigrant, are placed on the beach in a way that the weather conditions influence them until the point of completely away.
The process of slowly vanishing is a metaphor for the immigrants of the island who also slowly lose their ethnical identity, which they grown up with, as the time passes by. The only thing that is left for the new generations, that built they carriers in the USA, is a memory of their grandparents, traditions and costumes, as the last connection to the tradition of the Susak island.
